Palm Beach boasts year-round adventures like boating, fishing, hiking, biking, and golf. The area has several social and golf clubs, most notably the Everglades Club and Mar-a-Lago. Residents can also enjoy numerous museums, events, and festivals to celebrate Palm Beach’s rich cultural heritage.

Developed by oil baron Henry Flagler in the late 1890’s Palm Beach has survived famous hurricanes. The barrier islands and the wetlands help protect the town. Beautiful areas like the Frenchman’s Forest Natural Area – a 158-acre protected forest of native trees and swampland with hiking trails are fun to explore.

The coastline of Palm Beach County is about 50 miles long and consists mainly of barrier islands and peninsulas, including Jupiter Island, Singer Island, and Palm Beach Island. These islands are separated from the mainland by the Intracoastal Waterway. Much of these waterways are locally known as the Lake Worth Lagoon and support the area’s famous boating lifestyle.

Easy access to the Intracoastal Waterway supports a fantastic and fun-loving boating culture. Florida – and Palm Beach specifically – are worldwide hubs for boating, yachting and some of the world’s biggest boat shows. If you want to deep dive into this unique nautical lifestyle, Palm Beach is the perfect spot to explore it. Marina and mooring communities also offer luxury; golf courses, dining venues, clubhouses, fitness centers, and spas

A Stunning Jewel in the Treasure State

Whitefish and the Flathead Valley are world-renowned for stunning natural beauty and easy access to some outstanding wilderness. Bordering Canada to the north and boasting one of the most spectacular National Parks – Glacier National Park, no wonder Montana is named – The Treasure State.

Towering granite peaks, lush valleys, endless forests and crystal blue lakes beckon visitors and residents alike. Whitefish and surrounding areas offer first-class golf, legendary fly-fishing, diverse cultural activities and endless outdoor recreation.

Whitefish is only 25 miles from Glacier National Park – the park has over a million acres of wilderness. A photographer’s dream – featuring impressive glaciers, alpine meadows, pristine lakes and dramatic glacier-carved valleys. 700 miles of groomed hiking trails created for those who want to experience nature close-up – observe moose, mountain goats, wolverines, lynxes, and even grizzly bears.

Whitefish Mountain Resort has over 3,000 acres of terrain for skiers and snowboarders, and the resort receives over 300 inches of snow each season. It’s the perfect place to enjoy the interior fireplace and warm up after a day on the slopes.

In summer, enjoy scenic chairlift rides, zip-lines, and alpine slides. Take a dip in the pool or bask in the sun during the warmer months.

Flathead Valley’s main feature is Flathead Lake – one of the country’s largest freshwater lakes and famously crystal clear. Flathead Lake is among the cleanest in the United States, thanks to low levels of algae.

When you’re not out on the lake boating or fishing, check out the many golf courses. Whitefish was named one of Golf Digest’s top “50 Golf Destinations” in the world. There are three golf courses over 50 years old, with mature trees and luxury log clubhouses. Those who enjoy cultural events can experience the Whitefish Performing Arts Center, which boasts many superb performances. Or enjoy the lively arts scene and local live music. Interior designers pay homage to cultural arts and different palettes that compliment any home.

The town of Kalispell provides easy access to one of Flathead’s most treasured features –Wild Horse Island State Park. Native tribes once used this island park for grazing their horses without concern of them being stolen. Wild mares still remain on the island, along with bighorn sheep and elk.

Flathead Valley has the perfect conditions to grow all kinds of fruits– such as Montana’s famous cherries! Picking these delicious fruits in season is another treasured activity for locals and visitors. The landscape and life outdoors is one of the many draws that bring people to Whitefish.

Two Indian reservations—the Flathead and Blackfeet—have top-notch trout streams, including the Blackfoot and Bitterroot rivers. Archaeological evidence indicates that Glacier’s Native American history dates back at least 10,000 years. The first Europeans who later explored this area were fur trappers in the late 1700s.

The historic Flathead Valley and Whitefish is truly a special place to explore and enjoy.

Boasting over 250 sunny days each year and easy access to pristine wilderness, Sun Valley has something for everyone. There is so much to do and see in Sun Valley and Central Idaho that almost everyone who vacations here returns again and again. Of course, some visit this gorgeous area and never leave but with gorgeous homes from Dennis Kavanaugh Construction and De Reus Architects can you blame them?

With more than 100 inches of snowfall each winter, Sun Valley offers world-class skiing and snowboarding. Sun Valley’s rich ski history is intriguing. Back in the mid-1930s, a well-known Austrian skier, Count Felix Schaffgotsch, was hired by the chairman of the Union Pacific Railroad to explore America’s mountains in search of the perfect place to build a ski town. The chairman, Averell Harriman, had grown up in the Swiss Alps and dreamed of developing an American ski resort that captured the grandeur of those found in Europe. Within a year of the count’s visit, the luxurious Sun Valley Resort was completed.

In warmer weather, Sun Valley is one of the hottest spots in the country for mountain biking and hiking. Summer-long music festivals and a renowned symphony showcasing local and national talent add to the season’s fun. Cool off during the summer and take a dip in the pool or bask in the sun by this luxury home with pool from Farmer Payne Architects.

The town itself is tiny, with only about 1,600 residents. Most of the population lives in Ketchum, Hailey or Bellevue, lively historic communities boasting the occasional Hollywood star who’s built a second or third home here. It’s no surprise that noted home designers like The Picket Fence Interior Design and Red Door Home Design help curate the perfect design aesthetic. Sun Valley has long been a playground for the rich and famous: celebrities as diverse as Ernest Hemingway, Clint Eastwood, Tom Hanks, Bill Gates and members of the Kennedy family have all found their way here. However, most visitors don’t come here for those kind of stars but for the stars in the night sky.

Sun Valley and Central Idaho are known for crystal clear night skies. Visitors to the Central Idaho Dark Sky Reserve are treated to stunning views of the shimmering arms of the Milky Way and a sky full of bright, shining stars and planets. Located in the rugged Sawtooth Mountains, this reserve is one of the last large “pools” of natural nighttime darkness.

Come join the many who have chosen to build in and enjoy this unique and famous resort area. You won’t regret it!
